Safety Screen Upgrades to Existing Dosing Panels
Several clients have recently upgraded their chemical barrier protection standards (e.g. The Water Corporation Design Standard DS79-03) to further increase safety at their plants. These changes require existing dosing cabinets which either have no doors, ageing plastic curtains or removable rigid screens be replaced or enclosed with clear sliding or hinged doors and all pressurised piping to be completely covered / contained.
Recently, Fusion’s engineering and design team designed a retrofitted sliding door system, custom measured to The Water Corporation’s existing dosing panels specifications. The system includes an outer frame to house the rails for the sliding doors. The doors can be removed in the event of a shutdown or for extended maintenance, using nothing more than a screwdriver.
The example image above is from the Water Corporation’s Mundaring Water Treatment Plant, Aluminium Sulphate dosing panel. Fusion prefabricated the door assembly in our WA workshop and installed it simply by welding to the inside surface of the existing panel, minimising onsite work.
